In Memoriam Kibeth

Ki sat with his head cocked to one side for several minutes, his wise old eyes seeing much more than the river, his sharp ears hearing more than just the gurgle of the current. After a while a small, enormously satisfied rumble sounded from deep in his chest. He got up and shook himself dry. Then he wandered off, following a zigzag path along the border between Life and Death, his tail wagging so hard, the tip of it beat the river into a froth behind him.

My black, white, and tan Australian Shepherd dog named Ki, standing in clear, shallow water over smooth pebbles, his reflection visible beneath him, attending to something off behind the camera.

A tri-colored Australian Shepherd dog named Ki sitting on a wooden tree stump, looking directly at the camera with his tongue hanging out in a happy expression. He has a black coat with white chest and paws, and tan/brown markings around his face and legs. The setting is an outdoor area with a blurred background of buildings and trees during golden hour lighting. Photo of Ki, my tricolor australian shepherd dog, standing on driftwood at Rialto Beach, fur ruffled by the wind, heavy surf with misty islands behind and mostly overcast sky. My Australian Shepherd named Ki looking off to the right, standing on a bed of yellow fallen leaves in a stand of trees with autumn foliage.
